Chipply Business - The Accounting Page
The Accounting page in Dealer Settings is where you decide what payment methods you can use for eCom stores, deposit requests, and invoices. You can also set a fee for each Invoice/Deposit payment method, and turn invoicing on or off with Allow Billing.
To find it, go to Dealer Settings → Accounting.

Allow Billing: the dealer’s master switch
Allow Billing is the first thing you’ll see on the Accounting tab. It’s on by default, and turning it off (or back on) asks you to confirm, because it affects every organization underneath you.

A few things worth knowing about this switch:
- Turning it off doesn’t erase anything. Your Payment Types, your organization settings, all of it stays exactly as you left it. Allow Billing just stops you from sending new invoices or deposit requests while it’s off. Turn it back on, and everything returns.
- It doesn’t touch your eCom store checkout. Whether shoppers can pay by credit card, Apple Pay and so on at checkout is controlled separately (see Payment Types below).
- Existing open invoices can still be paid even if you turn Allow Billing off. It blocks new invoicing and deposit activity, not collecting on what’s already outstanding.
Payment Types: one grid, set once
Underneath Allow Billing is the Payment Types table. For each payment type, such as credit card, Stripe Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, ACH, cash and check, you decide whether it’s allowed and what fee, if any, gets charged when a customer uses it.

eCom Store Checkout is its own thing
The left-most column, what a shopper can pay with at checkout on your web store, is completely independent from the rest of the grid. Changing what’s allowed for deposit requests or invoices has no effect on checkout, and the other way around. Don’t assume one column mirrors another. Check each one individually.
“In-Person” means your staff keying in the card
For deposit requests and invoices, In-Person means the organization gives you their card number over the phone (or in person) and someone on your team enters it. It doesn’t include Stripe Link, Apple Pay or Google Pay, because those require the payer to complete the checkout on their own device. Cash and check work the same way: they’re only ever entered by your team.
Why cash and check aren’t available on the Organization Portal
This is intentional. If an organization could log into their own portal and mark themselves as “paid by cash,” there would be no way for you to confirm it. Anything self-serve is limited to real, verifiable electronic payment methods.
Setting a fee
You can set a fee for a payment type, and it doesn’t have to match exactly what your processor charges you. If you want to recoup more of your own processing cost when an organization pays a certain way, the fee field is how you do it.
Organization settings: narrowing it once
From your dealer-wide baseline, settings narrow on the organization itself. Open the organization, go to Manage Organization, and look under Billing Information. You’ll find two toggles:

- Allow Billing controls whether this specific organization can be billed at all. If it’s off, Create Invoice, Create Deposit Request and Make Payment are greyed out on that organization’s stores, with a tooltip explaining why.
- Require a Purchase Order (PO): when it’s on, you need to enter a PO number on the store’s Sales Order Summary before you can invoice or request a deposit. Once the PO is entered, those actions unlock.
The same Payment Types grid also appears here, scoped to just this organization, and it only works in one direction. You can turn off a payment type for an organization even though you allow it dealer-wide, but you can’t turn on anything you’ve turned off dealer-wide, and you can’t change its fee.
