How to Add Blank Goods to Your Store Using Fulfill Engine
If you want to include blank (undecorated) goods on a store that uses the Fulfill Engine integration, a small workaround is required. Because blank goods in Chipply do not have artwork attached, you will need to create a placeholder artwork and process to house the Design ID that Fulfill Engine provides for undecorated items.
Please note: You may need to reach out to Fulfill Engine directly to have blank goods enabled on your account before getting started. This workflow also requires an active Fulfill Engine integration already set up in your Chipply account. If you have not yet done so, refer to the Fulfill Engine Integration setup guide first.
Fulfill Engine handles blank goods by assigning them a Design ID just like any decorated item. When setting up a blank product in Fulfill Engine, select No Decoration as the decoration method, this generates the Design ID you will use in Chipply. Blank goods and decorated goods can be included on the same PO, so there is no need to submit separate orders.
Setting Up Your Blank Artwork
- In your store, click Artwork in the left-hand menu.
- In the top right corner, click the + button and select New Artwork.
- Fill out the Artwork Name, set the Decoration Type to None, and change the Decoration Vendor to Fulfill Engine.
- Chipply will display a placeholder artwork box under the variation. You will need to remove this to ensure no placeholder image appears on your blank products. To do this, hover over the preview image, click the three dots that appear, and select Delete.
- Enter the Design ID provided by Fulfill Engine into the Variation ID field.
Setting Up Your Blank Process
- Click Processes in the left-hand menu. You will need to create a new process specifically for your undecorated items. Note that Chipply's standard blank items process cannot be used here because it does not have a Design ID associated with it.
- In the top right corner, click the + button. For the process name, we suggest something like Fulfill Engine Undecorated Items or whatever fits best for your store.
- Under Artwork, click the + button, select your newly created blank artwork from the dropdown, and click Accept.
- Under Artwork Location, select Other, then click Save.
Your blank process is now created. You can assign this process to any blank goods products you are ordering through Fulfill Engine
