You can’t directly apply an eCert to an order after it's been placed—but there’s a simple workaround using a Promo Code.
Follow these steps:
1. Create a Promo Code for the eCert Amount

Go to the store where the order was placed.

Create a Promo Code for the same amount that should’ve been applied from the eCert.

Pro Tip: Name the Promo Code something specific like the customer’s name to make it easy to track later.
2. Edit the Order and Apply the Promo Code

Go to Order Manager and open the order.

Click Edit Order.

Scroll to the bottom and click the pencil icon next to the Promo field.

Select the Promo Code you just created.

You’ll see a Net Order Difference appear—this should match the Promo Code value.

Click Refund in the upper-right corner. This will refund just the Net Order Difference back to the customer’s card.
3. Adjust the Customer’s eCert

Head to the eCert page for the store.

Locate the customer’s eCert.

Adjust the Issued Amount to reflect the reduced balance (subtract the amount refunded via the Promo Code).
