If you need to transfer e-certificates from one store to another—whether because a store is closing or you’re duplicating a store—the process is quick and straightforward. This works for both dollar-based and points-based e-certificates.
Step 1: Export E-Certificates from the Old Store
-
In the store that contains the e-certificates you want to transfer, navigate to the E-Certificates page.
-
Click the Export button. Chipply will download the existing e-certificates into an Excel file.
-
Open this Excel file—you’ll need it shortly.
Step 2: Prepare the New Store for Upload
-
In your new store, navigate to the E-Certificates page.
-
In the top-right corner, click the + button, then select Add from Upload, and click ACCEPT.
-
You will then want to click the DOWNLOAD button.
-
This will download a blank e-certificate upload template for your new store.
-
Step 3: Copy Data into the Upload Template
-
Open both the exported file (from the old store) and the new store’s upload template.
-
Copy the following fields from the old file into the new template:
-
Name
-
E-Cert Code
-
Amount Remaining
-
Email
-
-
Save the completed template in a location you can easily access.
⚠️ Important Notes:
-
Always use Amount Remaining, not Amount Issued, to ensure accurate balances are transferred.
-
Remove any e-certificates with a 0 balance (either 0 points or $0). Uploads will fail if they contain fully redeemed codes.
Step 4: Upload to the New Store
-
In your new store, return to the E-Certificate Upload page.
-
Click Choose File, select the updated template you just created, and then click ACCEPT.
Your e-certificates will now be successfully transferred to the new store.
