How to Edit an Existing Order

Customers sometimes need a different size, forget to use a promo code, or want to change something after they check out. You can make most of these changes yourself from Edit Order in Order Manager.

How to Change a Size or Color on an Order

  1. In your store, go to Order Manager and search for the order by customer name, email, phone number, or order number.
  2. Open the order and click Edit Order.
  3. Find the product and update the size or color.
  4. Check the Net Order Difference at the bottom of the screen:
    • If it's $0, save your changes.
    • If the new size costs more (for example, a size upcharge), click Payment to charge the difference.
    • If the new size costs less, click Refund to return the difference to the customer.
  5. When asked, send the customer an updated sales order so they have an accurate receipt.

How to Apply a Promo Code a Customer Forgot to Use

  1. In Order Manager, find the order and click Edit Order.
  2. Scroll down to the Promo field and click the pencil icon.
  3. Enter the promo code.
  4. Check the Net Order Difference and make sure it matches the discount.
  5. Click Refund in the top right corner. The difference is refunded to the customer's original payment method.

Tip: Customer used an e-certificate instead of a promo code? Follow the eCert steps instead so the balance is applied correctly.

  • Update anything you've already sent out. If you've already exported reports, rosters, or purchase orders for the store, re-run them after editing so the change is included.
  • Refunds go back to the original payment method. Only the Net Order Difference is refunded, not the whole order.
  • Need to send a new receipt later? You can reprint or resend a sales order at any time. Print Sales Orders From Order Manager
